An update and an award

Hello all. Things are going pretty well here. I worked from home Wednesday and Thursday and went back to work on Friday. I was so tired out by the end of Friday, we really worked hard. To celebrate Valentine’s Day hubby and I went to a sushi place we have wanted to try for a while last night. We splurged and got something called the sushi boat. I wish I had a camera with us. It was HUGE. It was a bit expensive, but it was worth what we got, and it was our Valentine’s night out. I really liked the rolls that had rice, but didn’t like the sashimi as much. I want to go back there and try the other foods they have. Yum.

Things on the GI diet have been going pretty well. I haven’t been 100% yet because I am trying to go through the groceries I bought last week. However, I am trying to be more conscious. For example, I am only eating half of a bagel for breakfast. I enjoy larger thomas’s bagels, but they have so many carbs and are probably not the carb I should be eating. But only eating half a bagel with egg beaters makes it a little better. I think I’m going to switch to whole wheat english muffins instead. I’m also trying to always have a protein or a veg with my carbs to stop with the carb coma. So far so good. I was a bit of a nerd and made an excel spreadsheet with a column for veggies, protein, fruit, and carbs that are low gi that I can eat. This way when I do go shopping on monday it will be easier to shop and easier to pick what I want to eat. I haven’t noticed that much of a change yet, but it’s only been a few days. I do notice that I’ve been a little happier recently and I was actually craving fruit today instead of carbs so yea for that.

Tonight is day 9 of taking the Prometrium. Sweet. Only two more days of taking it and then hopefully my period will show up soon after. I still am wondering if I should do Femara/injections or Clomid/injections. Hubby is all for Femara/Injections and that’s what we probably will do, but part of me is still thinking. I need to schedule an appointment to learn about injections soon.

Now onto quick things that make me happy – 1. I just got my hair cut yesterday short. It had been a really long time since I had gotten my hair cut and I needed it. It’s also nice to have a new cute style. I fashioned it off this picture of Sel.ena Go.mez. 2. Yea for the Olympics starting. I love watching the Opening Ceremony and all the events. 3. I got an award!

  1. Aw thanks for the award!! =) I will post it some time this week (probably when I get all the latest u/s pics up … need to get to a scanner). I am really glad you’re almost done with the Prometrium and I hope AF is not far behind so you can get started again. Do you know what kind of injectables they’d be using for you? I tried Follistim and Menopur and I strongly preferred Follistim because it is a lot easier (no mixing and easy injection system) plus it didn’t sting like Menopur (not a huge deal, but always nicer to not sting). However, I think Menopur is cheaper if you’re paying out of pocket. There are so many kinds though. The injection class (if it was like mine) will be really helpful so you can feel totally prepared.

P.S. I have 2 Thomas bagels with full fat cream cheese in the morning and a high protein shake. The quads get pretty hungry after a night on an empty stomach! 😉

    • Wow that is a lot of food! I am not sure what sort of injectables he will have me on. I think he might of mentioned one that is in a pen that you can just set the dial with the right injection if that tells you anything. I have no idea. Whatever it is I know I will probably be on the lowest amount possible. I”m not sure how much my insurance will pay either, prolly not that much. I’m a little nervous to see how much this cycle will cost. It’s my first foray into injectables.

  2. Thanks Follies! It’s my first blog award! 🙂 I have found a great support system in other TTCers like you. Infertility is so misunderstood by society, and it is nice to have a community of like minded people to connect to.

First I wanted to say thank you for my bunny socks! I absolutely love them 🙂 And I love the symbolism behind them. Our injections class was pretty cool. We got to practice on a little piece of fleshy silicon to make sure we were doing it right. I used the Follistim pen for our last IUI and it is so easy. You just turn the dial to the right dose and inject. I look forward to following along with you on your journey.

  4. awe, thank you so much!

i bet your hair cut looks adorable!

i just nominated you for an award too! 🙂

  5. glad the diet’s going good so far – i think a spreadshhet is a great idea!
