Ovidrel done

I had a very nice thanksigiving. We went to my in-laws and had 16 people at the table. It was good food and nice company. I hope all of you had a good thanksgiving too.

When I got the call that today (yesterday) was definitely the day we get to start trying my husband was so excited lol. He gave me the shot at 6pm and I didn’t freak out as much as last time and he did a great job. Go us. I felt like he pushed the needle in a bit more, but it wasn’t that bad. We did the shot on my left side under my belly button. After I had gotten the shot I was like were we supposed to do it on the right side since that is where my follicle is? I got nervous and googled everything I could, but from what I found I don’t think it makes a difference. *fingers crossed* I felt cramping on my left side and today I feel little flutters of stuff in the general area So I hope it works. I also have sore bo.obs a bit, though more so on the side where I got the shot. I don’t remember having that the last time I took the ovidrel so I hope that’s a sign that things will work better this 2ww. Probably not, but I can dream.

Question for you guys – do you eliminate things your not supposed to eat when your pregnant during your 2ww? Last 2ww I didn’t drink caffeine and tried to avoid nutrasweet and those other sweeteners that your not supposed to have while pregnant. My nurse who I asked last 2ww didn’t think I had too, but I was extra careful. I’m not sure what I’m going to do this time around.

yay! congrats! 2ww, here you come!!!

i used to omit things from my diet after ovulation (coffee, alcohol, etc.) but i’ve been through too many 2wws to know that it hasn’t seemed to help so i say just do everything in moderation. but i’m no nurse! 🙂

    good luck!

  2. Congrats on getting through the Ovidrel shot! Now the trying can begin! As for the 2ww, I cut out caffeine entirely (like all the time, not just 2ww), and for my Clomid and injectables cycles I just made sure I didn’t drink. For IVF (for the entire cycle) I added in whole milk 1x/day, royal jelly/bee pollen 2x/day, no alcohol or caffeine the entire cycle. Not really sure if it matters though. I would say maybe avoid alcohol/caffeine around 6DPO since that’s when implantation can start.

So glad you had a nice Thanksgiving!! And good job on the ovridel shot 🙂 We were hoping we would only have to do that once, but round two of that one will probably be Thursday!

I try to cut back to one cup of coffee per day during the 2ww (from maybe 2-3 the other half of the cycle). That is my biggest ttc no-no, I think…

    • What made you have to do the ovidrel shot twice?

After 19 cycles of trying I don’t put my life on hold especially when it comes to eating or drinking. I will change my habits when I see that BFP. I hope this is your lucky cycle!!

  5. Good News on the Ovidrel. Good Luck!

  6. Yay! Glad you got to do your shot and get going!

I strictly avoid alcohol and caffeine during my tww, but everything else I still eat.

  7. So glad you had a great Turkey Day! When I was on my 2ww, I would avoid caffeine and alcohol but drink and eat everything else. 🙂 GOOD LUCK…I’M PRAYING FOR YOUR MIRACLE BABY AND BFP THIS CYCLE!

Glad to hear that you had a nice Thanksgiving! Also thrilled to hear that you’re officially in the trying phase again! I’m hoping this is it for you…all the crossables crossed and prayers headed your way!

As for what I cut out or don’t…I drink minimal amounts of caffeine (within acceptable preggo margins, anyway) so I don’t really cut it out. I do cut out alcohol in the 2ww, but that’s about it. We’re still in natural cycles, though…the odds of that working are so low for us, that I really don’t change much for them. We’ll see how I feel about IUI/IVF 2ww soon enough…

  9. Nice!!! Awesome news on the Ovidrel and the BDing in store for you. I am sending lots of happy happy baby baby thoughts your way. 🙂

YAY for a two week wait! I hope this is it for you! Have fun tryin’ ;-).

I avoid caffeine and alcohol – but most things I’ve read say you don’t need to. Everything in moderation…

  11. Oooh, I hope this cycle works out!! The flutters sound good 😀 As for cutting food out, I try to cut it out when I enter the 2ww, simply because I’m supersticious and also because I feel it would make it easier to let go if I do get that BFP. Good luck!

Btw, thanks for your comment on my blog! It meant a lot to me.

  12. To answer your diet question, I ‘usually’ eliminate the bad stuff during the 2ww. I also usually switch from a regular multi-vitamin to a prenatal one, just in case. It’s never done a damn bit of good, but I’m determined.

I was fortunate in that I never had any symptoms from Ovidrel – not even the cramping. I wished I had gotten symptoms, though, because I was always paranoid that my body was not responding, so I think symptoms are good. Hope your 2ww turns out positive!

  13. YAY for trying time! I wouldn’t worry about the placement of the shot – my clinic tells me to inject in on the top of my thigh!

I don’t drink during the 2WW and try to cut back on caffene…but I don’t quit everything cold turkey. Good luck!!!!
